How To Grow Zebra Plant

The scientific name of the zebra plant is (Aphelandra squarrosa) is a common house plant that appears and grows well in an indoor environment. The origin of the zebra plant is Brazil. Zebra plant is a beautiful ornament plant to make indoor elegant. The Zebra houseplant has two kids in scientific research one of aphelandra squarrosa (zebra plant) and the other is calathea zebrina ( calathea zebra). Zebra plants are a spice of the Brazilian family and grow in a natural environment.

How to grow Zebra Plant

The Aphelandra Squarrosa plant grows well if it gets good care and maintenance. The dark green color and flower bracts make it adorable. The leaf of the zebra plant succulent has clear white color veins and grows simultaneously 6 inches long and 1.5 to 2.5 inches wide and the direction of the leaves to the tips.  It usually needs more light and has the ability to control the moisture and humidity in the environment.

The s flowers of this zebra plant are the same as the other plants that grow out of the bracts in small shapes, sizes, and leaves. They produced zebra plant flowers according to their stem amount. Usually, the number of bracts are 2 to 4  and will go on approximately 5 to 6 weeks. The season of growing flowing is good after summer.

For well zebra plant care and condition you have to flow these tips are

Temperature __ The temperature required for well growth and care is about 15-23 degree or (60-75) fahrenheit. Keep in mind the room temperature should not be less than 13 degree centigrade.

Light__ Zebra succulent plants do not require direct sunlight because it’s a type of indoor plant that just needs bright light of summer time.

Zebra plant  Watering __ the zebra plant care is not difficult it’s easy to care  and a natural living plant. for well moist soil and not requiring lots of water or too dry soil.  Just spray and sparkly water for well growing at least 2 tob3 times in a week is best for it.

Soil and Repotting__ The soil should be peat-based potting soil mixes are good to use for zebra plant care.  And the reporting should be done in the spring season each year. If the plant grows wide you have to select a bigger pot.

Fertilizing of zebra plant succulent__ zebra plant needs low maintenance and care that’s why it’s feed not heavy and for balance fertilizer, you should feed 2 to 3 times in a week during summer and spring seasons.

Humidity __ zebra plant (aphelandra squarrosa ) required higher humidity than other succulent plants. You should increase the humidity level of the indoor area if this is low through any artificial devices and appliances.

Propagation of every plant done through its leaves and stem cutting. You can cut some inches off the leaves and stem of the zebra plant. And place the well-drained soil mix in the pot. The main thing in propagation is temperature. Your room temperatures should be ideal for well grown and increasing growing processes of plants. The ideal temperature is 70 Fahrenheit. If you apply the heat and bright light to the pot the growing process also increases. The zebra plant succulent propagation is not very tough; it’s easy to propagate just some look after.
